In an attempt to preserve it’s network resources aka bandwidth allowance among users Globe released an infographic explaining their own version of Fair Usage Policy (FUP)
3% of Globe subscribers are heavy data users and according to this Yugatech’s explanation they’re trying to get wean these users that they believe is hogging their network.
Here’s my opinion on this, I have been a Globe Telecom postpaid tattoo internet subscriber plan 999 since 2010, I carry it around anywhere I travel along, in year 2013 – but because I upgraded my surfing habits, I removed the sim from the tattoo usb stick and placed it in my Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 enabled mobile data services and set it up as wifi tether for my gadgets.
My mobile internet is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, I do admit I use torrents for downloading stuffs that I need like videos and music for research and lesson purposes, I’m a die hard fan – I play Clash of Clans – this game requires you to be online, I also use youtube for searching dances for teaching my subjects and these services consume a-lot of bandwidth that I think Globe is trying to curb – I don’t know what I mentioned above would justify or prove my means to theirs (I think they’re selective and biased, aren’t we treated equal?) They prefer the 97% who actually don’t use 1Gb per day – Are you saying they’re not techie at all?
To further illustrate what I really meant, my torrent downloads before the FUP was consistently 100kbps to 200kbps of download speed – that’s reasonably fast and here comes this FUP after in place – the download speed dropped from 100-200kbps to 0.2-0.8 kbps. – (Do I have to turned off data services from time to time? if I do that would be a waste of crappy time,)
Hey Globe! if you have uncapped postpaid UNLIMITED? mobile internet data plans for me – Give me some I’m willing to pay a higher price for as long I don’t get that crappy throttled speed. Is there any mobile internet service that caters to my needs without being capped?
PS: I’ve signed up for a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, Samsung S Duos or higher gadgets, complied with the needed requirements, you’ve been bugging me with your verification calls for more than 4x, from my counting it’s been I think my guess 3 weeks already, until now I haven’t received the gadgets you promised me.
When the unit/s arrives if it does I’m going to cancel it! Or before it arrives I want it canceled.
